Our family lived and served in Budapest from 2002 to 2004, and we have lived in Vác since October 2005. We teach English to partially support ourselves. Otherwise we work among both Deaf and hearing Hungarians in order to show the love of God, share the gospel of Jesus Christ, and establish indigenous, reproducing Bible studies and churches that are led by God's Spirit instead of by human rules or traditions.

Lea's first day of teaching went very well. Now she has to teach—and
follow through with her disciplinary plan!

- Lea's first day of teaching [was Wednesday]. Please pray that she
will be consistent, respectable, and firm (strict!), and that she
will find the best way to reach her kids.
- Karen has a lot of new subjects this year, including chemistry,
physics, and biology. She also has a lot of memorization to do.
Please pray for her brain.
- In addition to beginning a new year at the Deaf School, Doug is
undergoing a lot of spiritual growth, which is beneficial but not
always easy. Please pray that he stays intent on God and manages
to fulfill his responsibilities well.

On Saturday, several folks from our Váci church
took a canoe/kayak trip up (2 hours) and down (1/2 hour)
the Danube River. Between trips we had lunch and hung out
at a small beach across the Danube from Visegrád
("VEE sheh graad"), the ruins of a medieval castle.
We three Coppages and our friend Jarrod were in one canoe.
The other canoe held Laci, his fiancée Adri,
Viktor, and Adri's brother Norbi.
After lunch, Doug and Karen tried out the kayak.
Dalma and Peti kayaking downriver.
Tamás had his own kayak.
He knew what he was doing.
