If you ever have to plan a Bible study but have no time to gather extra material, then here is a good format for starting conversations that are serious, informative, edifying, and mutually beneficial. We have found that, instead of "chasing rabbits," participants tend to concentrate the conversation on how the Bible passage addresses their current situations and needs. Also, this format is memorable and is easily copied by others, especially new or future leaders.
First, read the passage. Then ask these questions about the text, giving everyone a chance to respond. Let the conversation follow freely.
